In the second quarter of 1922, which covered April to June, Arthur Rue and Margaret Ann nee Collins registered the birth of their 5th child, a daughter named Minnie.
They had had two children , Thomas in 1916 and Margaret in 1917 who had died as babies and two children, Arthur in 1918 and Marjorie in 1920 who had survived early childhood.
I do not have any details on Minnie however her death was registered in the same quarter as her birth, i.e. quarter 2 1922 and the following burial receipt which I believe suggests some things:
irstly this shows that her parents, Arthur and Margaret had moved from 1 Llewellyn Street, which I believe to be the home of Margarets parents, to 32 Wallace Road.
Secondly the receipt does not show her name, just “shell from a child”, even though her brother and sister had died young their names were shown. This may just be that a different clerk had dealt with the receipt or may show a shift in the parents attitude.
Finally, and for me the most interesting points, are that there was no payment for an officiating minister, whereas in the burial of both Thomas and Margaret the family had paid 2 shillings and 6 pence for this, and that Minne was buried in grave 165 plot B, which was a grave previously “occupied” although i do not know by whom, whereas both Thomas and Margaret had been buried in grave 222 plot B.
