Mary was born in Cwmtaff in Breconshire, – her aged varied on records between being born between 1857 and 1862. Her father was Daniel Jenkins, a farmer.

They had 7 children born, but only 2 made it past infancy. Thomas born in 1888 and Margaret Ann born in 1890.
Mary died in 1909.
