The birth of Margaret Ann Rue was registered in the 4th quater of 1890 and she was actually baptised twice!
Margaret Rue, daughter of Edward, a coachman, and Mary was baptised in Penllyn on 24th October 1890, it then appears to be the same person:  Margaret Ann Rue daughter of Edward, a gardener, and Mary baptised in Llangan on 21st August 1892, it says she was 2 years old and living in Tewgoed Penllyn.

Her parents were Edward Rue, and Mary nee Jenkins.

Margaret had a brother, Thomas who was 2 years older than her.  Her parents also had 5 other babies although none of those survivied early infancy.

In the 1891 census the family are living in Graig, Penllyne (various spellings found for this!) near Bridgend.  Edward a 26 year old labourer, Mary his 30 year old wife, their son Thomas aged 2 and daughter Margaret aged 6 months.

In the 1901 census the family were still at Tewgoed, Penlline.  Edward 33 was an agricultural labourer, Mary is given as age 42, Margaret Ann was 10 and Thomas was 12.

Margarets mother, Mary died in 1909.  At that time the family resided at Trebellen, Llanblethian.

In the 1911 census we see Edward a 46 year old widow, a farm employer with his son Thomas 22 also a farmer and his daughter Margaret Ann, aged 20 also a farmer.  They also have a male lodger, a farm servant.  The house has 9 rooms, which is large for the time, and is at Trebethin near Cowbridge.

In the second quarter of 1912 Margaret married John Rees.  They went on to have 9 children between 1912 and 1932 and appeared to remain in the Bridgend area.  As these are Rees and not Rue I have not covered them here and have only limited information on them anyway.

Margaret and John lived at Penyparc Farm in Llanharry.  This was their address in 1935 when her father, Edward wrote his will and when in the early 1950’s her father, Edward appears to have come to live with them in the final period of his life.  He died on 10th May 1951 at Penyparc Farm and in his will left his entire estate to Margaret Rees.  He had previously been living in Llanblethian and although his will states that he had 5 house of real estate as well as insurance policies and personal effects when written in 1935, his probate in 1951 left £36 remaining.
