Edith was born in Barry, Glamorgan in 1905 to William Rue and Sarah nee Davies. She had an older sister, Violet Ellen born in 1898 and an older brother, George born in 1902. Her parents also had a son, Albert or Alfred whon was born and died in 1900.
Her father, William had previously been married to Elizabeth Goodwin and had 2 sons, although it appears he had no link with them what so ever, having married Sarah Davies as a bachelor.
In the 1911 cenus we see the family living at 117 Main Street, Cardiff. There is William aged 48, a small haulier, his wife Sarah aged 46 and their 3 children
Violet aged 12, George aged 8 and Edith aged 6.
It appears from my research that Edith did not marry and died a spinster in the South Glamorgan area in 1980 when she would have been around 75 years old.
