Gladys Mary Stephens was born on 14th July 1908.
She first married a Mr Clarke and I understand they had at least one child, although I have not researched this at all.
Gladys Clarke then married Arthur L Rue in 1954 in the Bridgend area. He was 30 years old and she was 46 with at least one grown up child.
Despite her age Gladys and Arthur had one son, born on 18th April 1955 in the Pontypridd area of Glamorgan.
I understand that Arthur and Gladys ran a shop in Cardiff and that he also did general building work to supplement their income. I also understand that he died after falling off a ladder whilst working one day in the late 1950’s or early 1960’s.
I have no record of Arthurs death but Glays died in January 1989.
It appears that their only son, Jeffrey (or Arthur Jeffrey) died in Cardiff in 2002 aged 47 having had no children.
