Rita Grace Rue was the forth and last born of George Rue and Winifred Mary nee Hopkins. She was born in East Glamorgan, somewhere in the Cardiff/Barry area on 1st July 1928. She had 3 older sisters, Winifred P born in 1922, Sylvia (1923) and Rose (1925).
Her mother, Winifred died in 1932. Her father then remarried aged 41 to Dorothy Harrod and went on to have another 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls.
Rita married Daniel Canty in 1947 still in the East Glamorgan area.
Rita died in Glamorgan in June 2005.
