Vi was born in early 1915 the first child born to Albert Rue and Dolly nee Hiscocks in Neath, West Gamorgan. She later had 3 sisters – Gladys, Joyce and Eileen and 3 brothers – Cliff, Merv and Ken.
Auntie Vi never married, living nearly all of her life at Brith Dir Farm in Skewen with her parents who died in 1968 (Dolly) and 1975 (Albert) and her younger brother Ken. However the farm was like a second home to all the extended family with the brothers and sisters returning regularly and most especially at Christmastime with their respective families.
Vi spent the end of her life in Neuadd Drummau Care home before passing away on 4th November 2008 – the funeral taking place on 13th November 2008.
