Winifred was the first bron of George Rue and Winifred Mary nee Hopkins. She was born in East Glamorgan, somewhere in the Cardiff/Barry area in 1922. She had 3 younger sisters, Sylvia(1923), Rose (1925) and Rita (1928).
Her mother, Winifred died in 1932. Her father then remarried aged 41 to Dorothy Harrod and went on to have another 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls.
Winifred P married Patrick G Stephenson in 1944 still in the East Glamorgan area.
As Winifred then became a Stephenson I have not done a lot more research into her, however I did come across her obitituary in the Western Mail which showed that she died on 28th December 2009 in Barry.
It appears that Patrick had died and Winifred had remarried Richard Stanley Hale.
Winifred and Patrick had 3 children – a daughter in 1941, a son in 1950 and another son in 1954.
Winifred had lived in Barry (Wyndham Street) most of her life and was clearly close to her 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
